I want to try something this year. I haven’t typically done year-end reviews because I have no idea if people would read them since the season, by definition, would be over. It wouldn’t be a big deal if the effort involved was minimal, but it would be a more involved undertaking to do them in a way that would be worthwhile.
So to test out whether the concept is of interest to my readers, I have decided to go the Kickstarter route. Here’s how this will work:
1. Once 5 people notify me (see form below) that they would be interested in funding a donation for their team’s year-end review, I will create a Kickstarter page specific to that team.
2. If the Kickstarter campaign reaches its funding goal, I’ll go ahead an write up an in-depth article or series of articles on that team to be published on the site.
Simple. This way, I will know that the year-end review is valued by readers before I put in the effort. Also, if any of them are funded, I can buy my wife a little something as a thanks for letting me spend all this time on lacrosse analytics.
