With this win, Hobart is up to #11 in our Strength-of-Record rankings. This is a good team. There is nothing in these stats that is out of the ordinary for either team. Through today’s games, Matthew Pedicine has been the 3rd most productive FOGO in the country. And he was a big part of the Hobart win, as usual. The Statesmen had a 20 to 11 faceoff advantage, which they turned into a 58/42 time-of-possession advantage. On top of that, Hobart scored in just about 40% of their possessions, which is slightly higher than their season average. It was another good night for Hobart.

I put up the Vermont season comparison, not to say much about the Catamounts, but to press the case that Hobart is good.In this game, Vermont was more efficient than normal, they turned the ball over less than normal. Their shooting profile was eerily similar to their previous games. They still lost by 6. The Hobart offense just had the ball too much, and when they did, they were just too effective at turning those possessions into goals. If Vermont was going to win this game, they were either going to have outperform their averages on faceoffs/possession or their offensive efficiency. Hobart didn’t let them do either.
Let’s talk about Chris Aslanian

A lot of times, when we count up the EGA totals, the top stat line belongs to a player who had a bunch of unassisted goals. Aslanian has been the consummate feeder all year. 48% of his EGA in the year has come from his 19 assists. He gets a special call-out in this one because, to go with his 3 assists, he also had 2 goals of his own.He was a big part of an ultra-efficient Hobart offense. And he’s been a big part of propelling the Statesmen to the heights they’ve achieved so far.
